SG enables rapid enterprise IoT solutions with latest MicroPython-based F1 Smart Module based on Sequans Monarch 2
Hong Kong SAR, China – April 5, 2024 – SG Wireless Limited, an IoT technology-agnostic solutions provider, introduces the F1 Smart Module to provide a path of least resistance for companies planning to expand into the IoT industry.
A MicroPython-programmable microcontroller combining Bluetooth LE, Wi-Fi, LoRa and LTE in a compact form factor, the F1 Smart Module is deployed through zero-touch provisioning for true plug-and-play to the SG Cloud ecosystem Ctrl. The embedded MicroPython development tool CtrlR enables users to configure the module to their specific application requirements.
The module is based on Sequans’ Monarch 2 GM02S technology that enables wide area LTE-M/NB-IoT coverage and delivers ultra-low power consumption.
“IoT solutions are notoriously difficult to get off the ground, and we are delighted to bring to market the F1 module to help customers overcome the entry hurdle into the fast-developing IoT market,” says Carl Hung, CEO at SG. “The F1 module will be the go-to, off-the-shelf solution for customers looking for enterprise IoT solutions that require flexible multi-network connectivity and rapid deployment and scaling.”
“We are excited to see our Monarch 2 GM02S inside the new F1 Module,” says Olivier Pauzet, SVP Marketing and Strategy at Sequans. “SG’s design-focused approach to IoT solutions drastically increases the odds for successful market deployment.”
The F1 Smart Module comes in three variants: the F1 Smart Module for full-range programming flexibility, the F1/C Cellular Module for high-speed and high data volume transmission requirements and the F1/L LoRa Module for low-cost, long-range data transfers. The F1 Starter Kit is also available for immediate configuration and prototyping. SG will debut the products at embedded world 2024 (Apr 9 – 11, 2024), Hall 3, Stand 3-614.
